Morning Papers in Spain 14.08

Modric, on a Countdown: the Croatian is awaiting the closing of the deal to Real Madrid in his hometown of Split which should be finalized on Saturday. ¨Right now is not the time to comment.¨

¨We all know that Modric will end up in Madrid¨: the Croatian coach Stimac makes it clear. The player is certain that his transfer will be finalized by this weekend.

Song Says, Yes!: Barça is the best club in the world. Arsenal reduces the selling price to 18 million euros and the player piles on the pressure with his declarations.

Yes, Barça wants me: Song admits the blaugrana offer. ¨I won´t lie, there´s interest.¨ Barcelona will offer a player in exchange if Arsenal want more than 15 million euros.

Opinion:
So what if Modric is on a countdown. I´m not a fan. Frankly, I would rather have had David Silva for half of what they´re likely to spend on the Croatian. As for Song? This is ludicrous. 18 million for Song? If I´m Arsenal I take that and laugh all the way to the bank. He´s just not that good. Are they going to convert him into a center-back, because they already have two world-class players in his position.
